Whenever you buy a theme from any provider then you may have to upload the zip file which could be done on the dashboard. You should not only know about the admin area of your website but more than that, you should know all the primary uses of WordPress. A strong grip over C-panel can help you deal with errors usually encountered while installing WordPress themes such as errors 403, 503, 404, 406, etc.
Here is the step-by-step process of how you can install a WordPress theme using the Cpanel:
Note: Don’t forget to create a backup of your content and database. The C panel has an easy backup option.
Step 1: Reach C Panel and find the File manager
Every web hosting company has a different Cpanel layout. But you can easily find it in your admin area. Once clicking on the Cpanel, you must select the file manager.
Step 2: Open WP Content
In the file manager, find the home directory, clicking on that you will have another dropdown that will consist “Public_html” file, In this file, find Wp content. Wp content stores all your website’s content.
Step 3: Select the theme folder
In the Wp content, you will find the theme folder. Click on that.
Step 4: Reach the upload button
In the themes folder, you will find all the active and non-active WordPress themes of your site. Here you can upload the zip file of the theme you bought from the third party for installation.
Step 5: Upload the theme
After clicking on the upload button, a new window will open. There you will need to click on the “select file” button, through which you can upload your downloaded theme.
Step 6: Extract
After refreshing the page, you will see your zip file there. Right-click on the zip file and choose the extract option.
Step 7: Complete the process
Complete your process by refreshing the page. You will see your extracted theme folder with its name.
To activate, use the admin panel.
